Single jersey circular knitting machines only have vertical needles. But double jersey circular knitting machines have horizontal needles and vertical needles.

Knitting method

The two machines also knit differently. Single jersey knitting machines have only one direction in knitting, and double jersey knitting machines have two directions in knitting. Also, these two directions are perpendicular.

Whether a sinker is required

Single jersey knitting machines require sinkers to produce fabrics. Sinkers are an important element of loop formation in single-piece jersey. But sinkers have nothing to do with double jersey.

Single jersey circular knitting machines produce thinner fabrics than double jerseys.

Production

The fabric output of the single jersey knitting machine is higher than that of the other one.
